Below are some helpful tips to help you feel comfortable on the site and to have fun with us. :)

We LOVE introductions

If you are new to the Board or have been lurking for a while, please take a few minutes and post an introduction. Tell us about your engagement, wedding date, and any other details that you'd like to share. It helps us get to know you and is definitely appreciated.

We also LOVE bios

Please create a Bio so that we can share in your wedding plans.  It is fun to look through other knottie's Bios for helpful ideas for your own wedding plans.  See 'How to Create a Bio' on the 'How Tos' page.

Before Asking a Wedding-Related Question...

Please check a few pages of the Board posts. Your question may have already been asked and answered in detail.

Also, remember that Google is your friend. You can often get answers to your questions by checking on Google. If it makes sense to check there first, please do so.

In addition, on the blue left-hand sidebar under "Community Links," a link to the FAQs section of The Knot is displayed. You may find the answer to your question there.

Please Don't Post and Run

Stick around for a while. Please don't just ask a question and then disappear forever. We take the time to answer your questions and we'd like to know if we have been helpful or if you need more information. 

Pittsburgh Knottie Wedding List

For years, ladies on the Pittsburgh Knot Board have maintained a wedding list.  You can see it here:

We use this to do weekly send-off posts the Thursday before every bride's wedding day.  If you would like to be included, create a post with "Pittsburgh Knottie Wedding List" as the title and with your wedding date inside.

Things learned along the way

(Through myself and through knowledge of other Knottie Brides): 

- VistaPrint is a God-send to lots of us Brides! All you have to do is go to www.VistaPrint.com, sign up for their emails and begin saving!  Remember that your computer screen might have a different look than what VistaPrint sends you so try ordered in small packs first to try them out before ordering all that you really need. Some things are just slightly different in shades and others were very different - don't know why the differences were so varied.

- Etsy is AMAZING!! Just go to www.Etsy.com to see for yourself! Hours can be spent there, so be careful!
